Hello Readers, I'd like to brief you on one of the fun activities the high school students at Sandy Lake Academy engaged in this month. This year, our student association has been dedicated to providing the students of S.L.A. with a fun and exciting experience at school. One of the ways this has been achieved is by having a games afternoon where high school students were free to bring in board games, card games, and video games. Some of these games included: Apples to Apples, chess, trivia, Mario-Cart, and many more!
Covid-19 precautions were considered and met by ensuring that every station had a bottle of hand sanitizer and everything was disinfected before use, all games were disinfected, and masks were worn by participating staff and students.
Overall, the afternoon was filled with fun and games and the students at Sandy Lake Academy enjoyed time engaging with friends!
The high school students and S.A. would like to thank those students and parents who were willing to share their board games; the elementary teachers who volunteered their classroom games; the Dibb and Todd families for bringing their Nintendo Switch for the afternoon; and the S.A. members who organised this event. We hope to be able to hold more social activities such as this one in the future.
